"You miss 100% of the shots you never take." Wayne Gretsky

**don't know what's up with you, Blogger.com, but none of my pictures are uploading**

You tell 'em, Wayne. I actually used to be a major hockey fan until that strike what is it, two years ago now? I just have no patience for whiners and have since lost most interest in the sport. Such a shame because just about everyone loves hockey.

My day "off" on Friday turned into leaving the office at 1:30, and since we normally close at three it was fairly anti-climatic for me. Bygones. Perhaps this Friday I shall make another attempt. Is it even worth it? ;) I don't mean that to sound bitter, I'm just a busy bunny.

Thanks - Jen for shopping, shoe loaning, swimming with and feeding me this weekend. lol. I AM your Kato. Luv ya!

Saturday I headed into the office to oversee an almost disasterous project of building a new DOA office out of midair and literally in the middle of our waiting room.

Worry not, it looks fabulous. The only thing we are missing is glass.

Evidentally when I saw what the contractors had completed i.e. all wrong and made them entirely redo it, I said please add a "window" they thought "let's cut out a missing area of wall with no glass". It looks hilarious.

Now my Director can literally talk to all of his peeps sitting at his desk. No need to shout as he is missing half a wall. I told him I thought of him to be a Dixie Chicks fan and was needing some Wide Open Spaces himself. Okay - not that funny. But I was laughing my ass off at that one.

Saturday I also went to the SPCA and Lied Animal Shelter still in search of a kitten that can keep my poor Princess some company. She is so woe-ful and sad... staring out the window into the back yard bored out of her cute, little skittle-sized mind. Well, I found another one that I like even more than the gray female. Yes I can be fickle. This is a long haired boy that is a soft black color and just a ball full of trouble. He is incredibly playful and the moment I picked him up he meowed and then started getting crazy and wild. SOLD. I think Nic and I are skipping out on Book Club *I didn't even buy the book* and potentially heading to Lied tonight so I can get a second (well, third) opinion.

I know I won't be as "marketable"... one girl with two cats but sometimes you just can't wait for the maybe-s. I think all the cat and dog canoodling gave me an awful allergic reaction on Saturday. I was having a pity party and telling EVERYONE I might have contracted rabies. Which, I cannot contract from puppy kisses I was just being dramatic for some reason. Go figure.

Saturday night I saw Love, Actually and it is now in my top ten favorite movies... and for the life of me I cannot get "God Only Knows" by none other than the Beach Boys out of my head. I've been humming it for days.

Sunday I met Nic and Juan at 24 Hour Fitness at the crack of dawn for Rocky's Spin Class. Which I have flaked on since about June and am so glad I got back. He was hard on me, too. But I needed it as I had blueberry pancakes for a late brunch after church. **Thanks, honey**

Took a nap then headed to the Kasa Kakita to see Grant, Garrett, Kaija and the "yan brothers" Ryan and Bryan. Just swam, drank some beer and had a cook out. Got home about 9pm to watch the new Girls Next Door Season Premier and head to bed.

Not to sound too Miss Cleo but, I have a *feeling* coming on that this week has some changes in store, what they are I do not know ... I can just tell they are right around the corner.

Oooh AND I am officially reserved for China in November. Yahooooo! We now have a whole gaggle of girls going Heather, Teralyn, Renee, Jennifer M. & Rachel. Great wall, here I C.O.M.E!

I'm in love...

with a kitten. NOT a stripper. But I know everyone thinks of that song with those three words. Lame.

My weekend was pretty good. Friday night I ended up heading to the Flamingo for the Wine Tasting and had on a fabulously sexy black dress from BEBE (Thanks -H!) and was at my own cabana with Rodney Strong Vineyards and had a blast. Favorite line of the night "I ain't no Fred Flinstone, but I can make your bedrock".

Saturday morning was my meeting in Anthem which was great. I kind of put it all out there as far as my work philosophy and we'll see how they like it. I don't necessarily know if I want this opportunity, but I want them to want me for it regardless. Isn't it funny how those things work?
Tonya made us lunch at the house and we celebrated with Champagne and played with her puppies who have grown exponentially since just last week.

THEN I headed out to Laughlin for an impersonators show and it was actually totally fun. Previously a Laughlin virgin (which I've heard are few and far between) it was pretty cool. Thanks, Julie & Erin! For the hook up on the tickets ladies.

Sunday was Natalie's birthday party at Desert Breeze Pool and then just lounging around eating nibbles and watching bad Val Kilmer movies. (Okay enjoyable and not horrible but still bad). Val Kilmer plays a great gay man. Who knew?

Oh. AND going to Petsmart to pick up some cat grass (which btw- is really just wheat grass that has a kitten label that justifies it costing more than it would if it was at the grocery store) because Princess has been a little sick **or depressed** AND I saw the kah-uuuuuu-test baby kitten in the glass enclosure for Heaven Can Wait Sanctuaries.

For those of you who know me (and if you don't, why on earth are you reading this?) I am around a lot of animals from my volunteer work and what not but every once in awhile I will just fall instantly in love with something or another and yesterday I did. Four months old, spayed already, gray fur with white frosty tips. Uncertain if it's because she reminded me of Gracie (sniffle) or what. But I just adore her and am trying to be as rational as possible in making the decision of -to be or not be- another kitty in the house. Princess will either love her or hate her. Flip of the coin, really. THIS story is "to be continued..."

Something about Sunday nights, I never seem to get enough sleep. Worried about the week to come? Dreading heading to work? Not sure. All I know is I am damn TIRED. Not too tired to belly dance, though. Not too tired at all. (See you tonight - M!)

I can't find my KC planner for the life of me, so I think I'll just leave my plans for the week up for suprise. Suprising myself even on where the hell I'm suppossed to be. I like living on the edge.

For the girl (i.e. ME) that was raised watching C.O.P.S. my ride along last night with Metro (Thanks - Officer Saunders) was a blast.

We actually had the TV show C.O.P.S. on our beat **Yes - I just used the term BEAT. No - I'm not trying to sound like Cagney & Lacey** with Officer Chris whom we went on a couple of calls with and everything. I had always hoped to be on C.O.P.S. someday, one way OR the other. So if anyone sees the Las Vegas episode arresting someone with some brunette smiling like she's on the Price is Right in the front of the Police car, I WILL be giving autographs.

What did I see last night?

Domestic Violence - with a trip to Juvy
Domestic Disturbance
Shooting over a Mongoose Bike from Wal-Mart and some Methamphetamines

Ahhhh.. Paradise. It was incredibly eye opening and educational and I loved every minute of it.

Potential career move? Maybe. Maybe. Would they take me? Ha Ha. Not sure.

So today my priorities are

1) Latin Chamber of Commerce Luncheon
2) Manicure/Pedicure
3) Sleep

I am slated to pour tonight at Rock N Roll Wine but I would rather take a bubble bath, drink a glass of wine and read a book in bed. Tomorrrow morning is business meeting at 11:00 a.m. in Anthem then Mimosas and brunch.

Saturday night is still up in the air. I think I might be heading to Laughlin.

I love bunnies...

Anorexic Frogs

Okay - so far this week my schedule has been shot to complete hell. Monday I got to work at 6:45 a.m., no lunch and left the office at 7:15 p.m. No belly dancing class for me... Sorry Mysty. I am bordering on stalker since I called once and sent three text messages explaining myself. Here I go, talk you into taking a class with me that I have yet to attend.

Tuesday I was at the office by 6:30 a.m. and got into my car to head home at 8:45 p.m. I was able to sneak out for a quick lunch with Tonya at the quaint City Grill to enjoy a Mediterranean salad and "tomato basil" soup that was Spaghetti-O broth, but still delightful. I did run into Suzanne who is just adorable and heading to Mexico tomorrow with her boyfriend for a long weekend. Adios, Suzanne!

No B.U.S.E. or George Wallace for me, which frankly I am quite upset about. Bummed. That is just how the cookie crumbles sometimes. Mmm. A cookie sounds really good right now.

I have two pet frogs that have become anorexic and being the animal lover that I am... frankly I am beside myself with fret over my frogs. Do they need a bigger tank? Better rocks? What.

Had a lovely lunch at the coffee pub today. Fingers crossed for my ride along tomorrow, may have to reschedule and if that's the case I will be heading to Sierra Gold to meet up with Dean and get the 411 on the 911 with our next event. Perhaps grab a beer with Heather. Natch.

I am in no way trying to have a pity party. But I could use one of these from Red Rock Station Spa. I think I deserve a treat. A "To: Michelle, Great job at getting through this tough week. From, Michelle" treats. For anyone who knows me, the Champagne & Caviar Pedicure is right up my alley. That's just how I roll.

Ridiculous Email of the Day

Not to put you on blast guys - but don't worry. The names have been changed to protect the innocent.

For those of you who don't know ... read the information below from the bottom up.

Color Codes:
My text response is Orange
Bride to Be is GREEN
Groom is Purple
Groomsman is Blue

*******************************************************************
I can't see the pictures... frankly, nor do I want to. A kilt. That is insane and ridiculous. Please relate to your adorable fiancé if he would like to move the wedding and have it IN Scotland it would be appropriate. If and only if that were the case.

Anything else, no dice. Frankly, for him to be your betrothed and to even request it is absurd. I am concerned he may be drinking during the day as I see that as the only other option he could think this wacky theory has any potential of fruition.

Need I email over a phone number for AA?

Please advise.

Your friend, Michelle

I know other people are being very balsy, pushy, and selfish by trying to have things there way and be the center of attention, but no, I will not accomodate. I hate kilts.

By the way, I also find bagpipes grating, so if that is his next request, you know the answer.
Love you!!

Beautiful Bride to Be,

Alec, my crazy friend from Scotland, would like to wear his kilt and formal outfit as one of the groomsmen. Personally, I think it is really cool and even though he will look a little different, it adds some flair.
See the pictures to see if you are okay with it. I know you like having a uniform, but I do think it brings some European-ness to the proceedings.
Breath deeply and consider it!

Thanks,
Groom

I have the full formal outfit. The jacket is cut above the kilt line - it wouldn't look right with a typical tux jacket hanging down over the front of the kilt. The style is the same as the one in the pic I attached though the tartan is green/blue as in the gif file.

I would LOVE to have you wear the kilt. Do you use the tux that everyone else is wearing, or do you bring your own?
Cheers,
Groom

Kilt? You better let me wear it - it's been too long since it last made an appearance!

Groom wrote:

Hello all,
Here is the information on the tux:
Location Mens Wearhouse
Style JNY-1831 Shirt 5750
Vest Royale Collection, 8826 in black
Tie Solid, Euro Style
Shoes Mozart 4846
We will have a group number after this upcoming weekend. The whole thing is $60 there is a special for people who attend the bridal show this weekend, which we will do. Once you have the group number you can get the tux. Normally, you just need to go 1 month before the wedding but you can go earlier. I believe that it will be set up so you can either pick up the tux at your local Mens Wearhouse or here in Vegas.

"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit."

Since when did we have to start making decisions on our relationships based on the future they will or will not behold and stop making decisions on personal feelings and the moment we live in? I think that time is undefinable when it happens but we definately know once we've gotten there.

Monday Monday, dah dah dah dah dah dah.... so good to me... dah dah dah dah dah dah.

What's on the agenda this week?

Monday night is Belly Dancing Class. Yes - Mysty I will be attending. Promiss.
Tuesday night is B.U.S.E. with George Wallace as the Guest Speaker.
Wednesday night TBD.
Thursday night is a ride along with Metro.
Friday night is Flamingo Pool event where I will be serving.
Saturday night is TBD.
Sunday is Church and hopefully some sleep.

My not working out, think I'm going to gain a couple of pounds funk is coming to a screeching halt. Done. I'm over it. We all have these phases I suppose but the gym is going back to being my number one priorty. I need to find some new classes, renew interest.

Saturday evening's party was definately eventful to say the least. For those of you who were not there, you will never know. What I am needing is something like this, without traveling to Macedonia. I'm all about rejuvenation.

Sunday morning was heading to church with a raging hang over, sitting next to Mysty with Saurkraut Breath. LOL.

Thanks, Heather & Greg, for the puppy play time on Sunday to give me a rest. Puppies are adorable, but my day dreaming of adopting has had a hard kick in the ass with reality and the reality is - I have neither the time or the energy to have a puppy right now. Which makes me even MORE appreciative of Princess.

And so the day begins.

Chiquita Kakita

Okay - to my long lost friend (which is totally my fault for not being around), Jen, whom I haven't seen in weeks (since our trip to North Carolina) thank you THANK YOU for dinner last night. And three (and a half) glasses of well needed wine and good company.

Where's the link to the Nordic Walking Sticks? I'm totally down for the promotion of friends.

Tonight is Happy Hour at Sapporo that I will probably not make. Just wanting to chill out at home and get some actual sleep. Which has been missed for several reasons this week, including but not limited to my own relationship drama. Yuck!

Tomorrow morning is running 7 miles at 5am at Desert Breeze Park then picking up Sampson and Maximus at 8am in Seven Hills for some 8 week old Golden Retriever puppy sitting this weekend. Thanks - Tonya!

Saturday night is Kobe Beef Whine & Dine party at Allan & Ingrid's. Second annual and I just can't wait. Will be the first time in eleven months to see said exboyfriend. Nervous? You betcha.

Anyhoo, Sunday is the whole God thing with Church and then maybe brunch with Nic. I promiss to be more faithful to the blog in the months to come.

To all my pals that are sending the emails of missing me, I promiss PROMISS to be back to my former self and be around more in the very very soon future.

Love ya, M

What have I been up to? Wouldn't YOU like to know.

No really...

Mix, Mingle and Meet Someone Single!
Don't miss the Singles Wine Dinner event this Wednesday, July 12 at Sierra Gold (I-215 & South Jones). See you soon!

My picture's on the web, my picture's on the web. Imagine that chant to the Tom Greene Show theme song. Seriously, had my first Singles Wine & Dine Event last night and it was fabulously fun. Props to Larry, Lee and Eric for showing up and showing some support. Even though Lee is bound and determined to blame ME for sitting him next to a "fat chick". Superficial, are we?
Nespa?

Work is stressful, I think I've aged five years in three weeks... but maybe that has something to do with me partying down at the Mt. Charleston Hotel Event that sent me packing back to my boyfriend at noon on Saturday with a hang over and bile breath. Much more dramatic than the former weekend event at the Flamingo Pool. Which left me sober but soaking wet after doing a swan dive into the pool to cool down.

Gym has taken a back seat to being the supportive girlfriend the past few weeks. I think I'm in a funk due to the lack of endorphins. Must get back on that horse. A.S.A.P.

Planning on having house warming next month, standing in true gal pal's wedding in October and trip to China in November (God willing).

Have four minutes to kill? Check out This Funny Shit.
